One of the hottest performance SUVs on the market rolled into our shop for an audio overhaul. This Audi RSQ8 was already loaded from the factory with Audi’s Premium Bang & Olufsen audio system, but our client was looking for more. Specifically: greater bass impact and increased volume, without compromising sound fidelity or cargo space.
In addition to the audio system, our client wanted the hidden protection of a radar laser diffuser. The final result was an immersive, high-performance sound system, stealth radar protection, and a clean, factory-grade finish.
Complete Audio System Overhaul
Starting with the Source
To properly upgrade the system, we began by bypassing the factory Bang & Olufsen amplifier using the NAV-TV ZEN module. This gave us full control of the audio signal without losing any OEM functionality.
High-End Morel Speaker System
Next, every factory speaker was replaced with a high-end Morel speaker. Up front, we installed a Morel Elate Carbon 3-way setup, mounted on custom brackets using factory mounting points. No cutting, no extra holes, and fully reversible. The rear speakers were upgraded to the Morel Hybrid series, installed the same way.
To eliminate any panel rattle or acoustic distortion, we used Morel’s new sound-dampening material throughout the vehicle.
Stealth Subwoofer Solution
The client wanted serious bass, but not at the cost of cargo space. Fortunately, the RSQ8’s lack of a spare tire (thanks to run-flats) gave us the perfect location under the cargo floor. We designed and built a custom vented enclosure housing a powerful Morel Ultimo SC 10” subwoofer that was kept hidden and out of the way.
Amplification & Tuning
The entire system is powered by two amplifiers, including a Helix 12-channel amplifier with a built-in DSP (Digital Signal Processor). This allowed for fine-tuned calibration based on the client’s listening preferences, resulting in a completely immersive experience that is far beyond the capabilities of the factory system.
Custom Floor Panel Design
The client requested no visible loss of cargo space, but also something he could show off at Cars & Coffee meets. So, we gave him both.
We designed a custom floor panel that could be covered with the OEM mat, but underneath revealed a show-ready audio bay. The design drew inspiration from the RSQ8’s front grille and dashboard elements, using real carbon fiber and red accent lighting to match the vehicle’s interior.
The layout was first designed in 3D rendering software for accuracy and visualization. Once approved, we laser-cut all the pieces and carefully assembled them for a seamless, factory-plus look.
K40 Platinum 360 Radar & Laser System
When spirited driving is part of the equation, stealth radar and laser protection is a must.
This RSQ8 is now equipped with the K40 Platinum 360 system, featuring:
- Two radar receivers for directional awareness
- Five laser defuser sensors, discreetly mounted behind custom IR acrylic panels
- Three in the front grille
- Two in the rear
- Three in the front grille
Visual alerts are handled via LED indicators integrated into the dash cluster, while the control unit is custom-mounted next to the Helix controller in a panel designed to mimic factory trim.

The Final Result
This Audi RSQ8 came in as a high-performance SUV, but left as a stealthy, luxury concert hall on wheels, fully loaded with deep bass, pristine clarity, and tons of hidden tech.
